Ekki / Azobé — Lophira alata
Ekki — known internationally as Azobé and as Bongossi in German-speaking markets — is one of the densest commercially traded West African hardwoods. It is specified where timber must carry load, resist abrasion and survive prolonged exposure to water and ground contact.
We supply Ekki from Nigeria in the round, as squared baulks and as sawn sections, cut to the buyer's schedule. Sections, lengths, volumes and documentation are confirmed against each enquiry before any commitment is given.

Yes. Ekki, Azobé and Bongossi are trade names for the same species, Lophira alata. Buyers in the Netherlands and Belgium usually specify azobé, German-speaking markets specify Bongossi, and UK and Irish buyers specify ekki.
