One organisation across website, documentation, LinkedIn, signage and shipping marks. Built from four elements: the load-beam mark, the ink/bone contrast, the ochre accent, and the Trading Since 1992 heritage device.

Hierarchy

AARE dominant. Commodities supporting. Heritage discreet.

AARE always carries the dominant visual weight. Commodities sits beneath it as commercial context, never at equal weight. Trading Since 1992 is a quiet fact, set in mono, never a crest or badge.

AARE Commodities is the trading brand of AAAA ARE AND ASSOCIATE, Nigeria.

The mark

The load beam

The A of AARE is built as a load-bearing structure — two angled legs carrying a solid horizontal beam. It reads at once as the letter A, as a gantry under load, and as material held and moved. Deliberately commodity-neutral: no trees, globes, maps or handshakes, so it carries timber, coal, wood products and contracting equally.

The geometry is mechanical: mitred joins, square caps, equal rhythm. It stamps cleanly at 16px as a favicon and at two metres on a container door, and survives being burned into timber or printed single-colour on shipping documentation.

Palette & contrast

Deliberately not green and brown. Ochre is bright and works only on dark ink surfaces; on bone or white, use ochre-ink for AA-compliant text and rules.

Ink

Primary surface. Industrial graphite — structure, weight, seriousness. Use text-on-ink for body copy on this surface (AA contrast).

Bone

Documentation surface. Paper, specification, clarity. Pairs with dark ink text.

Ochre (dark surfaces)

Accent for ink/dark backgrounds only — mineral and ember. Do not use for text on bone/light surfaces (fails AA).

Ochre Ink (light surfaces)

The accessible accent for text and rules on bone/light backgrounds. Use text-ochre-ink, never accent-text, on white or bone.

Heritage device

Trading Since 1992

Always set in mono, always letterspaced, always preceded by the ochre rule. On light surfaces use text-ochre-ink for accessibility; on ink surfaces use accent-text. It is a fact stated plainly — never dressed as a vintage badge or crest, and never worded as "Est. 1992".

Photography & watermark policy

Real yard, real loading, no stock imagery

Photography is documentary: stockyards, sawmilling, rigging, container stuffing. No generic stock timber, no rendered scenes. Every image used commercially carries a subtle ink-bar brand mark in the corner; the mark is never overlaid on faces or overpowering the subject.

Every document uses the same three-band structure: ink header with mark, bone body with mono technical data, ochre-ink rule marking the heritage line at the foot — shown here with the formal lock-up.
